Year 13
At A2 level pupils pursue personal themes/topics which have been born out of work completed the previous year. Emphasis is on a written contextual study which is used to inspire individual and highly personal final outcomes. Examination papers for both AS and A2 are issued at the end of January with the exam taking place early May. All work is marked and moderated at the end of June. Work is monitored and reviewed regularly to ensure pupils are on track. Pupils are taught in nine one hour lessons per fortnight and are encouraged to use the art rooms in free lessons. The department are proud of obtaining consistently high grades each year above the national average for Wales and County.
