At Tasker Milward School, in Haverfordwest, we are committed to putting learning first and creating an excellent enironment in which all pupils are valued, challenged and supported to reach their potential.

Art is delivered through the school by a dedicated team of specialists. The skills of each member of the department allow us to offer a broad and exciting curriculum from KS3 to KS5.

 

We aim to develop and nurture pupils understanding and enjoyment of Art through carefully planned projects which support the development of artistic skills and processes. Teaching and Learning is a key focus of the department. The subject is very popular with a good uptake at GCSE and A Level. Results have been particularly impressive and we believe that all students can achieve in the subject.

 

Beyond the classroom we aim to extend pupils’ experiences of art through extra-curricular activities. Trips to London and abroad are offered to extend pupils knowledge of other artists and designers and to view first hand some of the finest art works of the world. We also regularly organise field trips with visiting artists and have set up a close relationship with local galleries.
